Blackboard Open Forums will be held throughout the month of February at each of the five ACCD Campuses. These open forums will allow for faculty to get an update on the current status of the implementation of Blackboard Vista. This will also serve as a time where faculty can share with others items of interests or issues that need attention. In addition, Pilot Faculty are encouraged to come and receive a gift of appreciation for District I.T.
Now that the 1st Blackboard Vista Pilot is underway, we are finding items that need attetion. I'd like to remind all faculty that this is one of the key purposes of the pilot. To help identify issues prior to our Go Live date. That said, I'd also like to thank all the faculty who have been utilizing our Issue Log Center to post various issues that they or their students have been experiencing. This feedback is vital to the success of Blackboard Vista here at the Alamo Community Colleges. We have designated a team that will review all posts every week, concentrating on root cause analysis, problem resolution, and problem workarounds. Please visit the "Important Links" area to access the Issue Log Center. In addition, we have created a "Known Issues" page within the End-User website. You may access it by clicking HERE.
The 1st Blackboard Vista Pilot kicked off this Spring at the Alamo Community Colleges. Of course, there were a number of issues that arose, but with the help of the faculty and support staff, we were able to get all students and faculty started and working in Blackboard in a timely manner. With this first pilot, we have received a great amount of feedback that will definitely assist us in improving our processes of operations to provide for an even smoother transition and 2nd Pilot.
